Reporting to the Superintendent-Director, the Workforce & Industry Partnership Developer provides dedicated technical assistance and project support to Greater Lawrence Technical School (GLTS) administrators, CTE instructors, and cooperative education personnel. Serving as a bridge between external industry partners and internal school staff, this role works closely with educators to enhance employer engagement, assist with grant research, and expand work-based learning pipelines. A primary focus of this position is offering targeted support to advance high-need, high-growth program areas, including Robotics, IT, Aviation, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Advisory Board & Program Support:
  • Support CTE instructors and administrators in strengthening existing Program Advisory Boards by helping identify and invite regional industry representatives.
  • Assist faculty in gathering employer feedback regarding industry trends, equipment needs, and emerging technologies.
  • Help organize and coordinate agendas, meetings, employer focus groups, and educator-to-industry workshops alongside program leads.
• Workforce Pathways & Student Placement Facilitation:
  • Collaborate directly with co-op coordinators, career services, and CTE teachers to identify new regional employer leads for student placement.
  • Focus outreach assistance on expanding co-ops, internships, and direct-to-employment pipelines in priority, high-need sectors: Robotics, IT, Aviation, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science.
  • Assist school teams in analyzing internal/external placement barriers while strictly adhering to GLTS authorization protocols and student safety guidelines.
• Grant Development & Regional Liaison Support:
  • Support administrative leadership in researching state, federal, and philanthropic grant opportunities (e.g., Perkins V and state sector grants).
  • Maintain a 12-month grant calendar, assist staff with collecting proposal data, and help secure employer letters of support.
  • Serve as an auxiliary contact point to support relationships with regional partners and Commonwealth agencies, such as MassCEC, MassTech Collaborative, Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC), NAMC, and MassHire.
• Documentation & Process Sustainability:
  • Develop and maintain shared digital dashboards, outreach templates, and tracking tools for staff use.
  • Provide monthly written progress reports to school leadership summarizing outreach activities, completed deliverables, and upcoming tasks.
  • Prepare a comprehensive end-of-year Sustainability Playbook to hand over all tools, employer databases, and processes to permanent GLTS staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Workforce Development, Public Policy, or a related field required.
• 3–5 years of experience in workforce development, industry outreach, educational support, or grant coordination.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with educators, school administrators, and external business partners.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation for local and regional outreach meetings.

 

ABILITY, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to support existing teams and defer leadership to administrative and faculty leads.

Knowledge of or strong familiarity with technical growth sectors including Robotics, IT, Aviation, Biotech, and Environmental Science.

Familiarity with Massachusetts workforce entities (MassCEC, MLSC, MassTech, MassHire) and vocational-technical education structures.

Excellent organization, communication, CRM/digital dashboard tracking, and written reporting skills.
