Reporting to the Director of Grants and Workforce Development, the Vocational Teacher’s role is to help students learn career area subject matter in accordance with educational frameworks (modified for the two year After Dark Program) and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Supervises the classroom and students. Leads collaboration with paraprofessional. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  A high school diploma is required; a college degree and prior teaching experience, preferably in a vocational high school setting or any combination of education and work experience.  Five years of recent (within the last seven years) of full-time employment experience directly related to vocational teaching area is preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Massachusetts Chapter 74 Teaching License in vocational education or working to obtain the license. State issued driver’s license is preferred.
